Ingredients

Main Ingredients
250 g minced beef
2 cheddar cheese
Iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
Tomato, thinly sliced
Salt
Cracked black pepper
2 burger buns
Butter
2 tbsp cooking oil

Sauce
1/2 yellow onion, pureed
2 to 3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Steps

Burger Sauce

  1. Pureed 1/2 a white onion.
  2. Mix pureed onion with the mayonnaise.
  3. Add chilli sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and set aside.

Burger Patty

  1. Divide minced beef into about 120 g for each serving. Shape them into a “tennis ball shape” patty, then chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan on medium. Cut each burger bun into half and butter them. Toast the buns for about 1 to 2 minutes buttered side down. Remove the buns when they turn to your preferred doneness.
  3. Add cooking oil to the hot skillet. Add the beef patty. Using parchment paper, carefully smash and flatten the beef patty into about 1 to 1.5 centimetres thick.
  4. Add salt and cracked black pepper to your taste. Let it cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Carefully turn the patty. Add a piece of cheddar cheese. Let it cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Assemble

  1. Spread the burger sauce onto the toasted bottom buns.
  2. Add sliced lettuce and tomatoes.
  3. Top with the burger patty, and lastly the toasted top bun.
  4. Enjoy while it is still hot. Enjoy!
