Ingredients
Main Ingredients
250 g minced beef
2 cheddar cheese
Iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
Tomato, thinly sliced
Salt
Cracked black pepper
2 burger buns
Butter
2 tbsp cooking oil
Sauce
1/2 yellow onion, pureed
2 to 3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Steps
Burger Sauce
- Pureed 1/2 a white onion.
- Mix pureed onion with the mayonnaise.
- Add chilli sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and set aside.
Burger Patty
- Divide minced beef into about 120 g for each serving. Shape them into a “tennis ball shape” patty, then chill in the refrigerator.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan on medium. Cut each burger bun into half and butter them. Toast the buns for about 1 to 2 minutes buttered side down. Remove the buns when they turn to your preferred doneness.
- Add cooking oil to the hot skillet. Add the beef patty. Using parchment paper, carefully smash and flatten the beef patty into about 1 to 1.5 centimetres thick.
- Add salt and cracked black pepper to your taste. Let it cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Carefully turn the patty. Add a piece of cheddar cheese. Let it cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Assemble
- Spread the burger sauce onto the toasted bottom buns.
- Add sliced lettuce and tomatoes.
- Top with the burger patty, and lastly the toasted top bun.
- Enjoy while it is still hot. Enjoy!
