Ingredients

Fried Chicken
6 chicken wings, separate the drumettes and wingettes
1 inch ginger, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black or white pepper
1 cup corn flour

Soy Garlic Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp rice wine
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp oyster sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 tbsp water

Garnish
Toasted sesame seeds

Steps

  1. Using a large mixing bowl, mix chicken wings with ginger, salt and pepper.
  2. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Coat all the marinated chicken wings with a thin layer of corn flour.
  4. Heat oil on medium-low. In batches, fry chicken wings for 2 to 3 minutes on each side depending on the size of the meat.
  5. Remove chicken wings from the oil. Turn heat to medium-high.
  6. In batches, fry chicken wings for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. The oil splashes like crazy now so be careful!
  7. Remove chicken wings from the oil once done.
  8. On another frying pan, add all the sauce ingredients.
  9. Heat pan on low. Stir all ingredients until combined.
  10. Simmer the sauce until it is reduced and slightly thickened.
  11. Off the heat and the sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
  12. Add fried chicken. Toss and coat the chicken wings evenly with sauce.
  13. Add toasted sesame seeds.
  14. Serve and enjoy!
